4/17/11

Friday Abby was complaining of nausea.  Linnea was home on Wed from the stomach flu so I felt as though Abby shouldn't be going to school in case she got sick too.  She didn't even want to chew gum.  It didn't go far with her and saturday she woke up feeling better...she went to dance class and had a great time...did well...and getting ready for her recital which is sun may 22nd at 1 PM Poughkeepsie High School.   After dance, they went to a park for play/picnic...then to another park for the easter egg hunt at 1. They had fun and it was over just as the rain started.  Abby found 2 prize tickets within her stash of eggs.
Today we went to church then drove around..then home.  Monday and Tues, Sarah and I both work so all the kids are going to maryanna's from 9 to 3:15.   Wed the kids will be at the house since Sarah is not teaching.  Abby and Adam are feeling well and doing fine.  Abby pinched her arm on the swing set today but other than that...they are all in working order.

4-3-11

Yesterday the kids came back to the house around 12:45 after Dance and haircuts.  The kids played inside after an hour of nap/rest.  I got home around 3:45 and the kids played outside til 5:30.  They ate well, bathed and got to bed just after 7.  Today, they were enjoying being home, not having to go anywhere and then played outside from 10:45 til now.  They helped us clean the garage and the weather has been so nice, they really have been happy playing together.  Abby and Adam roller skate...while I hold out a long stick for them to hang on to.

4-1-11

This week, the kids are doing great and have been eating and sleeping very well.  They got to play outside before the weather turned bad.  Abby and Adam feel well and have enjoyed school.  Wednesday morning and evening they seemed tired and distant.  By Thursday they were acting more like themselves with no mood swings or depressed/sad like behavior.  Abby did great at school Wed/Thurs and Friday and enjoyed school spirit week.  Abby and Adam are staying at my parents tonight and Abby will go to dance tomorrow morning.  The kids are going to go with Sarah after dance back to the house.  Abby and Linnea both need haircuts and will most likely get one on Saturday.

3-20-11

It's sunday and I am taking the kids to jump jakes to play so sarah can do school work b/c  it's too cold and windy to play outside, unfortunately...and yesterday they were at a park.
The kids came back with sarah after dance class yesterday.  Abby is feeling fine it seems.  Sarah took them to a park til 1:30 yesterday after dance, then everyone laid down for naps, except Adam.  Linnea has a stomach bug...has been throwing up beginning yesterday afternoon.  She is still on meds for her strep and will have to just take it easy today.  Adam is doing fine.  Jess and john came over to visit at 4 and stayed til 9.  We started a fire out back and me, adam, abby, jess and john stayed out for a long time while sarah stayed in with her girls to get them taken care of and to bed early.   the kids all lost their privelage to eat smores b/c they took gum from sarah's purse in the car without asking and all chewed it, then threw it on the floor in her car, while she ran into the house to get coats/shoes for the park after dance. then adam ran away from her at the park when she was trying to leave with them, while she called for him to stop and come back.  he kept running and madelyn followed him.....and went behind the school building.  she had to chase after him all the way to the dumpsters.  he doesn't listen at times when we need him to, ask him to or when it's dangerous, he keeps running.  Adam did that to me and sarah outside the poughkeepsie library when we left the back of the building and were walking on the sidewalk to the front of the building on main street to get to the car.  he ran way ahead of everyone and out of sight.  When will he learn?  so, we are taking away privelages.  We'll come back as late as I can stay away with them and settle in for the night.  Tomorrow, everyone is off to school hopefully.  I have to work tomorrow.

3-19-11

I spoke to mom and she said that Abby feels fine this morning, doesn't have a fever and her throat looks good.  Linnea will have had two doses of her medicine so she will be going to dance and so will Abby.  If Abby feels sick today, Dr. Schnieder said he'd see Abby tomorrow (SUnday).  Abby will then go to her two dance classes today and then come back to the hosue with Sarah and the girls.  If for some reason, Linnea stays home (unlikely), then the kids will come back to the house this afternoon with Jessica.  Jessica and John are in town and will be coming over tonight.

3-19-11

Yesterday, the kids did well in the morning.  Abby went to school ok but she wasn't very hungry.  She was also a bit happy then grumpy. She asked for breakfast then didn't want it and wanted to go outside.  She and Adam both are still getting stubborn at times when asked to do something or given a choice....it's like they freeze and do not want to be cooperative to get it done.  I am trying to get them to understnad that in order for htem to play/get a privalege, they will have to help get from point A TO B.  Abby came home feeling a bit sick/tired.  She said her stomach hurt and that she wanted ginger ale and a bagel.  Usually by Friday, she is tired.  Sometimes I wish they went to school just 4 days.  I didn't sign her up for Gymnasitcs this session just to keep the schedule light.  Plus she has a lot of make ups from the winter that she can do after dance is over in May.

She left with my mom and went to Nane and Odie's house.  Later in the early evening, Abby came down with a slight fever.  Linnea has strep again so today, I am going to have to have mom take her to get a strep test and more medicine possibly.  I will let Melissa know so she can decide if she wants to go too.  I was hit with a $300 bill from the Hyde Park clinic b/c it went toward my deductible.  Dr. Schneider does not charge me my deductible.  No big deal but I would like to make sure we try and get the kids to Dr. Schneider.  Abby will not go to dance today.  Adam had a great day yesterday.  He went to gymnastics, chuckie cheese w/ my mom, the store and the park w/ my mom.  Last night, they stayed at my parents w/ Jess and John.  On St. Patricks Day, the kids all had their faces painted w/ a shamrock, wore green and Abby got to eat green eggs/ham and drink green lemonade.  Today, the kids will come back to the house at some point and Abby will rest.  I'm hoping we can get her some medicine if she has strep again..she could just have a virus.   A lot is going around at the schools and within the homes.

3-16-11

Abby and Adam are doing well.   I was told Abby dosed off a little this morning...then ate crackers and drank ginger ale.  She then was back to herself and enjoyed being alone and playing quietly.  She fell asleep just as Sarah was ready to leave to  or  the other kids.  Abby and Adam were very energetic at the park after school....Abby's appetite isn't it's normal self but her energy is good and she doesn't have a fever or diahrrea.
She ran and ran around outside at the park but then would have some bouts of tiredness.  She will go to bed soon.  Adam is doing well and speaking better and better.  He loves to be outside and it's helping him.

3/14/11

Abby and Adam are doing well.  They slept well....Adam was a bit cranky going to bed..crying...but settled down.   They ate well and were all in a good mood this morning.  I am having lunch with Abby today at her school.

3-6-11

The kids are doing well.  They feel really good.  Today we are staying home and cleaning the garage and outside.  Abby and Adam are playing outside in the drizzle rain helping me.  They have their rain gear on w umbrellas and love being outside.  Friday they stayed over at mom and dad's and Abby went to her two dance classes.  After, they came back to the house and played outside for a long time.  They got a new scooter and Abby got some rollerskates, that she'll share w/ Linnea.  Today we are going back to my parents house for a big family late lunch meal.  A couple of my cousins had babies so Abby and Adam will  be able to meet them.  They slept well last night and Adam is doing a bit better with his moods.  He's talking more and more and trying to communicate a lot better over these past few days.  He likes to be outside and do boy things which makes him happy.

Friday, February 25, 2011

Abby seems to be feeling ok.  Glad we had her looked at.  Adam has a bad chest cold.  I gave them their medication yesterday afternoon and only Adam's this afternoon.
Abby's school said she was ok to return back to school after 2 doses of meds and no fever.  So, she went back on Thursday as did Linnea.
I am trying to work on their attitudes more and more.  They seem to have, especially Abby, a defiant nature about them and at times they are sassy towards adults.  They say, "No", when they should be more cooperative and positive.  Abby can be fresh and moody.  I am trying to keep their diets consistent and healthy, while also making sure they have outlets for their personalities but in a constructive way.  Abby didn't want to read while at the library yesterday afternoon.  She was excited about checking out  books but she was actively pulling a lot of books that weren't at her beginning reading level.  She wants to listen to stories but I'm trying to get her to read herself.  We are labeling tape with words and having the kids place the tape on the matching items around the house.  I want to see Abby comprehend and think more so I'm narrowing things down to choices so she can decide for herself and feel as though she's in control.  Same for Adam.  Really trying to explain and talk to him, which he likes.

2-22-11

Yesterday, the kids were at Maryanna's from 10 to 3:30.  They all came home and rested with a movie.  Abby still is working through her cough.  It is a dry cough and she doesn't have any nasal congestion.  I am putting Vicks on her chest and this morning she drank hot chocolate.  I have not given her anything more b/c she doesn't have a fever and I don't want to give her cough medicine b/c it's a dry cough and I don't want to dry it out or slow the process down.  She had a red rash around her bottom area Sunday afternoon and I believe it was from her underware/tights that she wore and didn't want to take off all day.  When I went to give her a shower, her underwear were wet so under her tights and pants she had been wet which irritated the area.  That and I believe she's had a virus this weekend causing her body to react more senstitively.  The rash is going away b/c I'm trying to keep her clean and have her not wear underwear at night.  She was up several times last night.  Adam had very loose stool yesterday early evening.  He had an accident in his pants which was a huge mess.  He has congestion in his nose but no signs of cough.  He slept all night, accept for one time waking up in his sleep, crying.  He never got out of his bed.  Linnea is staying home today b/c she came down with something yesterday afternoon, laid on the couch and had a fever.  She complained her ears hurt her and she vomited in the middle of the night.  She is going to the doctor today.  Something is going around and affected each kid differently, it seems.  I am just trying to keep them rested, hydrated.

2-20-11

Today is Sunday.  Abby and Adam came back to the house around 1 on Saturday from my parents.  They all went to the library with Sarah to get dvds and books after she picked them up from my mom after dance class.  Abby didn’t go to dance so that she could rest and take it easy.  She just seems to have a virus/cold that is minor.  99 temp and tired.  No sign of bad congestion.  Abby went to be at 7.  She did also take a late short nap.  Foster tipped a plate of cookies off the table w/ his paw and it landed on Abby’s toe.  The dogs were outside but Abby wanted them inside so she opened the back door while the kids were eating at the table.  The plate landed on her big toe and it hurt her bad.  She cried and then started to gag, which led to throwing up.  She got cleaned up and went to lay down.  She woke up at 2 am and wanted to sleep in bed with me.  I instead took her to her bed and fell asleep with her there until 4.  The kids are no longer sleeping in bed with me unless they sneak in and I’m unaware if they are there.  Adam has been sleeping all night in his bed.  Since we moved, he no longer comes into bed with me.  He rarely wakes up and comes into the room.  He is now wearing a pull up to bed and I’m talking to him about getting up in the night to use the potty.  He still is stuggling with independence but I am just guiding him through doing tasks on his own.  He seems very proud when it’s all said and done, though he fights it in the beginning.
Also, since we moved, he’s had no bed wetting accidents.  We don’t give them drinks past 7 and that helps too.  They’re eating well, sleeping well….life is good.  This morning we went to 9:30 mass then to brunch.  Now we are all outside playing. It’s cold but the sun is shining.  I’m taking Linnea and Abby to the library in a few to work on their reading.  We’ve been working on fun games and exercises to try and get them to practice.

Sat 2-19-11

Abby and Adam enjoyed having a day at home yesterday.  Abby slept 3 hrs b/c she is feeling sick with a cough.  When she woke up from her nap, she felt much more energized but today she'll take it easy.  She took some tylenol and still using vicks rub.  Adam is doing well and love playing with Nane.  He seems to be ok but has a runny nose.  They stayed over with Nane last night b/c Odie was traveling and Nane enjoyed their company and new they'd have a quiet, peaacful and restful evening.  Abby most likely won't go to dance class but will go to the studio to meet Sarah and the girls and head back to the house with them after Linnea finishes with class.  If Abby rests most of today and feels a lot better, we may go over to the roller rink tonight for an hour to practice roller skating, have some dinner and play the archade games.  Not sure...we'll have to see.  Tomorrow we'll go to church and lunch and Monday they'll all go to Maryanna's from 10 to 3 since they are out of school for President's day.

1-18-11

Today is Friday.  The kids have been doing very well.  Eating and sleeping ok.  Abby woke up at 4:45 yesterday so she was tired and said she dozed off on the bus ride home.  when she got off the bus, she wa playing outside and had a bad pee accident and wet her pants fully.  I asked her why she doesn't know to stop what she's doing to use the potty.  She went to bed early last night, however, started with a cough last night and it kept her awake most of the night.  I rubbed vicks on her and gave her some cough syrup.  She is home today, off of school so she will rest.  If she is feeling well tomorrow, she'll go to dance class, hopefully.  Adam is doing well....still wants help with the simple tasks each day so I'm trying to get him to be indep more and more.  He wants help b/c he wants the attention.  I'm trying to give him the attention in the right ways.  I am still working on giving them choices, basically narrowing it down to two choices when they are being "stuck" or stubborn.  This gives them back the control without me saying "do it b/c I say so".  Adam wants help and attention so I'm trying to give him the constructive attention in the best ways I can.  The kids are going to go outside today like they did yesterday...ride bikes and get muddy.

2-18-11

Abby and Adam are doing well. They both got their own new bed in their own room now so they are very happy, especially Abby who doesn’t have to sleep up on a top bunk anymore, going up and down a ladder. They have been sleeping well, especially Adam. We will be working with the kids on words, speech, reading and writing. We take them periodically to the library and work with them in a quiet study room. Abby’s progress report came back stating she needs improvement in phonics and writing. So, we will work with her and Adam to catch them up. Abby needs to be ready for 1st grade and I’ll use this time as wisely as I can.

2-7-11

The kids had a good weekend.  They seem to be feeling well w/ just a little bit of thick conjestion in the nose.  Mom picked up more vitamins for them on Friday.  Friday afternoon they went to my parents and stayed over.  Saturday, the freezing rain canceled dance class so they ran errands w/ my parents and came back to the house in the early afternoon.  Work was busy friday and saturday.  Saturday we had dinner at the house and played.  Sunday we stayed home from church to see Heather and the family.  Abby was happy to have visitors....and so was Adam.  It was nice of them to stop by before they went up north to Albany.  Afterwards, we got together w/ family and friends for the superbowl.  The kids were asleep by 8:15.  I am filling out the valentines day candygram for Abby.  She will recieve one from me, one from melissa and one from Sarah and the girls.  I'll put $3 in the folder for that.  I'll also fill out that we'll send $2 for the party, a fruit plate and paper products to bring to bring to the party on that monday.

2-2-11

This is day two with no school which is difficult to be inside and not go anywhere but i stayed home from work to help Sarah.   Abby and Adam are doing great.  We all stayed home yesterday then went out for dinner at Coco's.  the kids did good in the restaurant.  Abby and Adam ate two cups of turkey soup, salad and some more stuff.  They went to bed at 8:15.  Today they are going to Maryanna's.  Maryanna wasn't going to be open but I have to go to work and Sarah has to go to Marist so we convinced her to open for the 4 kids and maybe she'll she'll take in a few more to make sense of being open.  Maryanna is very flexible and helpful most times and it's rare when she closes.  I am leaving for work now.

1-28-11

After the kids got back from the doctors, they did well.  Ate their dinner and got to bed/asleep by 7:30.  They slept thru the night and all kids but Madelyn woke up at 4:30 am.  Abby and Linnea have been playing, after eating bagels and popcorn.  Adam has been painting.  Adam will stay home and go to his gymnastics class at 11.  Abby will go to school.  I have asked that her snow pants stay at school b/c Wednesday morning, she went to school without them and she wasn't able to play in the snow.  So, I just want them to stay at school.  She can take back and forth her boots/hats/gloves.
Unfotunately, when plans are quickly changed...the kids can be the ones who miss out.
So, I will ask Melissa to give me plenty of notice if the kids's schedules will change.  Letting me know last minute she won't be coming to the house to get the bus, had abby go to school w/o some things she had at the house.  She goes to school each day with her snow gear.
So, i will need a week or 2 advanced notice for schedule changes.

I will call to set up an appointment for Adam's speech...but what we are trying to do and have been for months is just talk to him a lot.  So much.  Kids develop speech when they are around it, so I've read, and that's what we are trying to do.  He asks a lot of questions and "why this, why that.  he's very curious, as all kids are and he's also stuck at time communicating.  So, talking to him a ton and narrowing down his choices to 2....helps him to feel in control.  Instead of demanding he do something...we say, "adam, do you want to have bananas or cheerios?
It forces him to answer with one or the other.  Also, speeking in full sentences and going overboard with explanation so that he hears the speech.  I have printed some information on it and will do what I can at home to practice.  Abby's hair got a trim which helps a lot.  A couple inches more would have been nice but at least she got a trim.

Looks like I have rescheduled to meet with Kevin at the condo monday around 1:30.  I will notify Melissa.

Tues 1-25-11

Sunday, the kids did well, church...IHOP...home.  Monday everyone got off to school ok.  It was a cold day so we dressed everyone warm.  Kids seem healthy.  Mom came over to help us b/c Sarah and I both had to leave early around 8:20 am.  She and I both had early appointments.  We got Linnea on the bus, Madelyn to school early for early drop off and then Mom took care of Abby and Adam b/w 9 and 9:30.   When the kids got home, Sarah took L and A to gymnastics and I stayed home w/ M and A.  I then got them in the car to meet her at McD's at 6:10 so I could get the girls and she goes on to class at Marist.  I brought the kids home and fed them, let them play in the tent and w/ the dogs and then to bed.  Adam was testy around midnight.  Crying.  He wanted something from me but i wasn't sure what...sounded like "dinosaur"  He's trying to communicate more but is stumped expressing his words.  He uses emotion w/ me a lot.  I have to be patient but it's hard in the middle of the night.  The whole house is asleep and he's whaling.  I took him downstairs so he didn't disrupt anyone, if he hadn't already, and he sat there crying on the couch while he watched me pick up toys.  I explained to him that the girls have school, I have work...etc.  he stopped crying.  I said, "OK, if you don't need to potty or want a sip of water, then it's back to bed...you cannot have a toy, if that's what you are crying about."  He finally stopped, and walked with me back up stairs and to bed.   During the day, we are giving him choices to make.  This gives him more control but also doesn't send us all over the place feeding into his wide range of needs and wants.   The kids did not get baths and will need a bath Tuesday night.  Abby did not get a chance to get a haircut w/ her busy schedule already this weekend.  Dance, b-day party, church, Ihop, freezing temps.  Also, we are trying to schedule a follow up appt for Abby's ear.  Maybe Thursday?  To be determined.  She does need a follow up w/ Dr. Schneider.

Sunday, January 23, 2011

Sunday 1-23

On Satruday, Abby went to dance then to Alex's birthday party.  My mom took her and Adam to diamond gymnastics.  Then my mom brought them home around 4.  Jess and John came over at 6.  Before they arrived we gave them all baths and then they ate salad and pizza.  Abby's been eating her meals great.  Adam is on and off.  They got to bed by 8 and slept thru the night.  We got up early and went to 9:30 mass at RC.  Then we went to IHOP to eat.  We came home to take naps and Abby was the only one who slept. The kids did some cake decorating.  I bought plain cakes from the bakery and so the kids made candy land cakes.  They're playing well and seem to be feeling good.  Abby needs her follow up doctor's appointment for her ear and I believe Adam needs an appointment as well.  I will ask Melissa about when this week a late appointment could be scheduled.  Possibly Wed or Thursday early evening.  The follow up appointment for her ear is priority.  We can ask the Dr. about her knee as well.  Adam has had no accidents this weekend.  Abby neither.  Abby hasn't gotten an hair cut yet b/c the super cuts was a long wait and no other place was open on Sunday.  Tomorrow she has gymnastics at 5.

1-21-11

the kids ate and slept great last night.  i got all of them to bed by 7:30.  Abby and Adam both slept through the night.  They woke up to a lot of snow and school is closed today.  They are staying home with Sarah and my mom and I'm off to do a job up north.  The kids are going to my mom's a bit later and staying over with Jess and John.  Abby has dance class and then Alex's birthday party at 2 tomorrow at diamond gymnastics.  Abby is complaining of her right knee hurting.  It seems to be internal.  Maybe growing pains?  Maybe shoes?  Maybe incorrect alignment of her hips?  I would like to address this next time we're at the doctors b/c she may need physical therapy and some early prevention of knee issues.   Adam is fine..he had a potty #2 accident in the afternoon as he was rushing to the toilet.  It's funny, when Adam has a #2 accident, Mady does too...they seem to be timed in sync.  The kids will look forward to talking to Melissa on Saturday.

wed 1-19-11

It's very bad weather out today.  Abby has a two hour delay.  I'm glad that the children are coming back and staying home this week.  I hope the kids are feeling better too.  Jess and John will be here and Abby has a birthday party on Saturday.  Her friend, Alex, is having a gymnastics party.  My mom, dad, Jess, John, Sarah, Linnea and Madelyn will be taking Abby and Adam to the party as well, since I have to work.  Saturday night we are having a birthday party for Jess at the house.

Grodio Kids 1-18-11

The kids slept great last night.  never got up.  We do not have tv in their rooms...nor in the house.
Just one that is hooked up to a dvd.  Their tv and techy stuff is limited.
Having no tv is something that they are adjusting to very well.  They find so many other things to do with their time.  We are working with Adam to try and get him to be more independent.  It's a struggle sometimes but we don't give up.  For example, trying to get him to go into the bathroom in the am first thing to take his diaper off, go potty and get dressed.  He fights it but is understanding the longer it takes him, the longer it is for him to get on with his morning and either play with the pups, paint, eat....
He resisted pouring his own cheerios into the bowl but finally did it.  The more we make him "do" the more he builds his confidence that he can do it on his own and doesn't need someone to do it all for him.  Same with putting on his socks and shoes.  It's a struggle but we're hopeful it'll become automatic for him...second nature.  We are trying to teach them the skills to take care of themselves and be independent.

Tues 1-18-11

After picking the kids up from Melissa's, we went to gymnastics.  Abby did great.  She was a bit stir crazy it seemed when we got there, running around and screaming, which could be a result of staying indoors for a few days during winter.  We got home and she ate all her spaghetti and garlic bread.  Adam ate his spaghetti as well.  They went to bed and were asleep by 7:30.  Today the kids have no school.  They will stay home and go over to Maryanna's around 10:30/11.  Everyone should and will be picked up b/w 3:30 and 3:45 today.
It's really bad outside, I have to leave soon for a meeting in Middletown.  I feel it's best the kids stay home this evening due to the bad weather and it continuing thru Wednesday.   I hope the right judgments will be made to not get them out on the road back and forth such a distance.  Also, Abby needs a haircut so hopefully she'll get a cut by the end of the week.

Grodio Kids 1-13-11

Abby came home from school happy yesterday.  Abby seems to feel a lot better.  Her appetite is better.  Adam, however, had diarrhea starting last night and all through the morning...on the potty.  It was a lot on the potty this morning, it stopped when he went out w/ my mom for a few hours, but when he got home, he was on the potty a lot.  His tummy hurts.   He's been eating yogurt, bananas and rice.  It was green, soft and smelled terrible.  Something has been going around this week.  He’s been using the potty today.  He had woken up at 2 in the morning with a diarrhea accident in his overnight diaper.  But today has been using the potty.
I will pack an overnight bag w/ bananas and their snow gear.
Abby has finished taking her medicine.  Abby had a sleigh riding party today at school.  She took all her snow gear with her so she could participate.
the kids have a new puppy named, Foster, an Australian Shepherd.  The kids love him.  He has green eyes and is very fluffy.

Grodio Kids Mon 1-10

Everyone is awake but Adam.  They slept all night in their beds b/c yesterday we went rollerskaking.  Linnea had a birthday party from 1 to 3 so we all went and had a blast.  Adam loved to skate and Abby did as well.  She kept wanting to go out and try...even though she was like rubber on wheels.  Adam got the skates that you put over your shoes and it was surprising how much control he had.  They both scaled the wall but overall liked it and we're planning to go back so they can get try again.  Abby said her tummy hurt yesterday and didn't have much of an appetite.  She drank ginger ale and had pringles, some rice, some apple, cheerios.  They played outside in the late morning yesterday for about 30 min.  It was cold.  Her and Linnea went out while Adam and Madelyn stayed in.  Adam loves to paint and play with play doh.  He feels good and had a good appetite.  Abby is going to school today.  The storm is coming Tuesday so we're planning for no school on Wednesday, or a 2 hour delay.

Saturday 1-8-2011

Adam and Abby were home yesterday until my mom took them to her house around 12:30 in order to get the kids there before the snow got too piled up.  Abby and Adam woke up not feeling well so my mom wanted to take them to her house to rest and sleep.  They were both tired and had a touch of a virus it seemed.  No diarrhea but tired and achy.  They slept at my moms most of the day.   My mom took care of them during the day and night.  Due to the snow and jobs in PA, I worked until 6 PM and had to be at work at 7:45 so they stayed over at Nane and Odie's. Abby woke up feeling better, as did Adam...so Abby went to her two dance classes.  I just got done with work and am driving over there now to pick them up and bring them back to the house.  We will stay home tonight but I'm thinking of taking Abby and Linnea to see Yogi Bear 3D later this early evening if they want.
Tomorrow the kids can play outside and sleigh across the street at the neighbors house after church.  We have all the snow gear and some sleighs.

Grodio Kids Fri 1-7-11

Due to the snow, schools are closed.  The children are at home today.  Adam's gymnastics class is canceled  .   We are hopeful Abby's dance will still be running tomorrow.  Abby took her medicine this morning.  She was saying that her knee and toes hurt.  It could be a growth spurt.  Their conjestion seems to be clearing up.  Abby does not have school Monday Jan 17th.

Grodio Kids 1-6-2011

Today is Thursday.  Abby and Adam slept all night in their beds.  Adam has been using the potty every day, communicating that he needs to go.  Except this evening he had an accident in his underwear.  He also was helpful with chores.  Abby woke up and ate her eggs and toast, got dressed after I picked out her clothes.  She got on the bus happy to go to school.  She came home happy but annoyed with Adam who was chasing her.  I notice Abby needs some space when she gets home...an adjustment period before the high energies of Linnea and Adam are there to greet her at the door.
Abby hasn't mentioned her ear bothering her but is taking her medication each day like a big girl.
Tonight the kids ate pork chops, squash and rice.  No one cleared their plates so no one got rice krispy treats.  They took baths and and watch a movie before bed.  Abby was able to count backwards from 10 to 1 with out hesitation.  Good job Abby-girl.
We had a water main break on our street.  the kids were watching the back-ho dig up the frozen, muddy ground to patch the pipes.  Adam loved seeing the big machine with the bright yellow lights digging up the ground.
We are expecting 2-4 inches of snow tomorrow and a possible two hour delay going to school as it happend last month.  In that case, Abby's bus comes at 11 am.   If it accumulates, we are all looking forward to playing in the snow and sledding.  Abby and Adam are planning on going with my parents Saturday to the dance studio while I work and the kids look forward to speaking to their mom on Saturday evening.  Photos to follow.
